Tour Plan

1

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport, there will be a 4.5 hours journey of 170 km to Jaigaon which is the last city at Indian Border. Midway halting for lunch is also provided. You may enjoy a leisure walk in the local market during your overnight at the hotel which is just at a few-foot distance from the Bhutan gate. You can even cross the Bhutan gate to take a sneak-peak view of Phuentsholing town which will be your first-foot town in Bhutan. Dinner will be followed after these events.

Day 2

Early breakfast between 7-7:30 A.M. will be scheduled to obey the visiting time of 8 A.M. at the Immigration center as per I.S.T. to obtain the permission for Bhutan visit. All the official work will be done by 11 A.M. It will be followed by check-out from the hotel. We will then depart from Jaigaon for Thimpu, having lunch at the military canteen en route. It will of best to adjust your watch as per Bhutan standard timing. You will arrive at Thimpu around 6 P.M. After freshening up at the hotel, you may visit the Clock tower which is a popular tourist attraction and also at a walking distance from the hotel providing you with enough time to get back at the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 A.M. followed by leaving the hotel at 9 A.M. for Thimpu sightseeing. We start our tour at Motithang Takin Preserve, which is a home for Bhutan’s National animal, Takin. Later you may enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature from Tashichho dzong viewpoint. The journey will continue with the drive up to Buddha Dordenma statue, a 169 ft. the tall bronze statue of Lord Buddha. You may have lunch at your next visiting spot, National Folk heritage Museum or you may enjoy the Bhutanese cuisine at any outside restaurant. The journey ends at Memorial Chorten via Paper factory. Relax at the hotel and then have dinner.

Day 4

Take your time getting ready in the morning while the tour guide visits the Immigration dept. for obtaining permission for your visit to Punakha. Breakfast will be served at 9 A.M. followed by the hotel check-out till 10 A.M. You can admire the rich and varied culture and heritage of Bhutan with your visit at Changangkha Lhakhang monastery. After the visit, we will continue our journey to Punakha, you may visit Dochula pass on the way and enjoy your lunch there. After your arrival at Punakha by 5 P.M., you may freshen up at the hotel and pay a visit to the nearby Chimi Lhakhang temple to explore more about Bhutan culture.

Day 5

After breakfast at 8:30 A.M. we will depart for Khamsum Yulley Namgyal temple at 9 A.M. located on the roof of mountains and is a classic example of mesmerizing traditions and Asian architectures. Plenty of trekking to reach the temple and an option of river rafting is also open for visitors to add adventure to their journey. Our next destination will be Punakha Dzong which is humongously popular among locals as well as visitors for its beauty. You will be delighted to take a walk at the Punakha suspension bridge, which is the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan built above the Po Chu River located near the dzong. Get to the hotel and relax your body for next location.

Day 6

Early breakfast will be scheduled at 8 A.M. Check-out from the hotel at 9 A.M. to visit Chelela pass and reach paro to check-in at the hotel. The day will start by paying a visit to one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Bhutan, Kyichu Lhakhang. A short drive away in the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong will be followed by lunch. On clear days, the magnificent view of the snow-capped peak of Chomolohari Mountain can be seen. After reaching the hotel you may visit the local markets in the evening.

Day 7

Breakfast at 8 A.M. will be followed by the departure for Taktsang Monastery at 9 A.M. Taktsang Monastery also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Enjoy the hiking experience while visiting the monastery as one-way hike will take around 2-3 hours. Evening arrival at 6 P.M. at the hotel will give you enough time to wither off the tiredness of the day. Have dinner and relax.

Day 8

Breakfast at 7:30 A.M. to leave for Siliguri at 8 A.M. along with all the sweet memories and sceneries of Bhutan in your heart. At Jaigaon you will be transferred to a different vehicle. You may have lunch at Jaigaon or any place midway after that. Check-in at the hotel at Siliguri, relax and have dinner.

Day 9

Assemble for breakfast at 9 A.M. and get ready to check-out from the hotel and departure for Bagdogra Airport.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  •      Bhutan Immigration remains closed on Saturday, Sunday, and Govt. Holidays.
  •      Restricted Area Permit for Punakha: Restricted Area Permit is required to visit Punakha from Home Ministry of Bhutan Please bring 04 passport size photographs and Voter ID card or Passport of each person including children. This special permit is given only after the guest has entered Thimphu. The permit is not issued on Saturday and Sunday and Government Holidays.
  •      Documents required for Bhutan Immigration is Voter id/Passport along with 2 copies of the passport photograph
  •      Children below 18 years can carry school ID/Aadhar Card along with a birth Certificate. At some places, student discount on entrance fees is available therefore keep original School/college ID.
  • Bhutan Immigration office remains open from 8:30 A.M to 3:30 P.M from Monday to Friday
  • Hotels are very strict with the child policy. Please carry the age proof so that it can be produced if asked by the hotel.
  • A valid photo ID proof for all guests staying at the hotel is mandatory.
  • For Extra adult in the room we will provide an extra bed (wherever possible), but most of the hotels only provide an extra mattress or roll out bed. Most of the hotels have no provision of an extra bed.
INCLUSION
  •      Accommodation on twin/ triple Sharing basis. If an odd number then 3 will be accommodated in a room.
  •      Transportation vehicle for transfers & sightseeing. Please ensure that vehicle will not be at disposal it will be available to guest as per itinerary only (point to point basis). You will be picked from and dropped at Bagdogra Airport upon your arrival and departure respectively.
  •      All hotel taxes (as per itinerary).
